Terms of Service

The agreement between you and AcademicGPT when you use the service.

These terms govern your use of AcademicGPT at academicgpt.net. By using the service you agree to them. Last updated 17 September 2026.

What the service does

You upload a PDF and ask AcademicGPT to draft a section, give feedback, or explain the text. Answers are generated by AI models from the text of the document you provide, and are accompanied where possible by quoted lines with page numbers that have been checked against that document.

What it does not do

AcademicGPT can be wrong. Quoted lines are verified to appear in your document, but an answer as a whole is not a guarantee of accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose, and follow-up questions in a chat are answered from the conversation rather than the document, so they carry no quotes. Nothing here is legal, medical, financial or academic advice. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on or submit as your own work, and for complying with your institution's rules on the use of AI assistance.

Your account and acceptable use

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You agree not to upload material you have no right to process with third-party services, not to use the service to infringe copyright or privacy, not to attempt to circumvent usage limits or access other users' data, and not to overload or probe the service. We may suspend accounts that do these things.

Your content

You keep all rights in the documents you upload and in the outputs you receive. You grant us only the permission needed to process a document in order to answer your request and to store the resulting session in your history. See the Privacy Policy for how that data is handled.

Plans, payment and cancellation

Free use is subject to limits. Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the terms shown at purchase. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future charges and access continues to the end of the paid period. If a charge is clearly in error, write to us and we will correct it.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as-is and as-available. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss arising from reliance on an answer.

Termination and contact

You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. We may terminate access for breach of these terms. If we change these terms materially we will update the date above. Questions: support@academicgpt.net.
